RT2 and RT3 are being conducted at Research Center Borstel (FZB) and are concerned with immunological response to a TB infection (including examination of oxidative stress in the lung tissue, proteolytic matrix degeneration, and neutrophil-induced damage and with markers associated with these cells in patient samples; RT2) as well as with molecular genetic analysis of the M.tuberculosis pathogen which causes TB.
