Almut Dorn works and does research in the field of gynaecological psychosomatics, especially on the psychological effects of unfulfilled desire to have children.
Almut Dorn studied psychology in Germany and France and did her doctorate on post-traumatic stress disorder after childbirth. She also completed training in trauma and behavioural therapy and is a licensed psychological psychotherapist. She worked for ten years as head psychologist in the department of Gynaecological Psychosomatics at Bonn University Hospital.
Since 2010 she has been running a clinic for gynaecological psychosomatics in Hamburg with a focus on fertility, prenatal diagnostics and psych oncology. She has many years of experience as a lecturer and supervisor in medical and psychotherapeutic training.
